Times Square Tower
One Times Square Building Renovation
George Ranalli Architect’s design concept to transform No. One Times Square in New York City was originally a response to the Municipal Arts Society sponsored competition in 1984. In an effort to regenerate the area while preserving its cultural heritage, the striking proposal features a totem-style tower with a spherical volume nestled within the body and stepped pyramidal forms at the very top. The original drawings have been published and exhibited in shows, for example, at the Skyscraper Museum in New York, and part of the collection at the Canadian Center for Architecture. In 2019, state-of-the-art 3D renderings imagine what the Times Square Tower can look like if George Ranalli Architect’s fascinating design proposal is realized.
