First of August is the renovation of a clothing shop on Lexington Avenue in New York City. The scope consisted of renovating the second floor of the building and adding a new facade linking the second floor to the existing first floor. In an effort to create a facade unlike the adjacent commercial enterprises, brash commercialism and signage were avoided. The desire was to design a shop which would be expressive as architecture and related to the city.
