George Ranalli believes furniture is a medium in its own right used to create sculpture, whether real and imaginary space. A precisionist aesthetic and ergonomic purpose draw out a sense of the human body, and a hint of exploratory wonder, to explore ideas about human identity, industry, and art. This purpose is realized in the material properties of form and materials that reference rudimentary domestic objects that do not fit exactly into any category of use. Every part of AI is indispensable to the whole which rings exuberance out of the transitions from a plane to an edge to a line. The composition interjects life into refined form to invoke the idea “the table has turned.”
